Earth's Layers

Have you wanted to dig all the way to China? How about watched a cartoon where the character some how went through the Earth and ended up in China? You’re not the only one who has had that idea. There’s even a famous book about traveling to the center of the Earth through a volcano. Unfortunately, you would never make it. Not only would the heat from the core melt you, the pressure squish you flat, but the toxic gases alone would prevent your trip. You wouldn’t get more than a couple miles down. Sorry to disappoint you.

We will spend time talking about what the Earth looks like, what its made of, and the forces that shape it. We will complete labs, projects, activities and of course bookwork.

In the following pages are some fun activities to get your mind going and help you remember what you’ve learned in the past. If you complete them all, bring them in to your Science teacher. It may be worth something.
